About

Jayce Hermanson is a Minnesota local artist who spent her summers growing up camping with her family in Northern Minnesota. This exposure to nature from a young age ignited her curiosity in all things that moved. Jayce would spend her days collecting bugs, frogs, and anything else she could catch. She would sit for hours as a child studying these creatures and their movements, and understanding their place in the natural world. Jayce also spent many hours growing up consuming fantasy novels. She would read of adventures of witches and knights fighting monsters or befriending dragons. Jayce spent many years learning about and education people on marine biology and the care for small animals in her adult life. Through this, she continued her exploration of the natural world. Her curiosity of nature, and inspiration from fantasy writing continues to inspire her today.

Jayce studied at Minnesota University, Moorhead where she received her BFA in Drawing and Illustration with a certificate in Scientific illustration. She has held artist talks and taught classes, and continues to pursue her career in the arts. Jayce is always passionate about teaching others of different art mediums, and encouraging artists to explore outside of their comfort. She has a range of knowledge from the biological world, as well as the technical arts. Her curiosity drives her to expand and this knowledge every day.
